World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. In the case of chests or helms it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded and their relative values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. The item upgrader mod will be rerolled and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain in question and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a few of your friends.

It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. Potions

Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer needed which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.

After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying a new one.
