It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it gets entangled in a hazard like a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
