iRobot recommends that you tidy up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." It was able to pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to give a thorough clean. Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series.
