WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The Item Upgrader Mod upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item upgrade slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
